Cookie-free web analytics for small businesses
Get visitor statistics you can trust without cookies, without a consent banner and without sending IP addresses to the US. You paste a script tag into the page. We store the page view, the referring page and UTM parameters plus an anonymised hash, never personal data, and visitors with Do Not Track are not counted at all.
The problem with GA4 + cookies
- ✗ A consent banner that loses 40-60% of visitors before they are counted.
- ✗ Data sent to the US requires a data processing agreement and a Schrems II risk assessment.
- ✗ Complicated GDPR configuration (CMP, consent, consent mode).
- ✗ Thresholds that hide the data of small sites.
How Paidin Analytics solves it
- ✓ No cookie is set, so no consent banner is needed.
- ✓ Data is stored in Azure North Europe (Ireland). No transfer to the US.
- ✓ One script tag. Done in 30 seconds.
- ✓ Every visit counts. No thresholds.
How cookie-free tracking works
Anonymous fingerprint
We count visitors on the server through a hashed combination of user agent, IP address, the site's domain and today's date. The value rotates at midnight, and nothing is stored in the visitor's browser. No person can be identified in reverse.
No IP storage
Your visitor's IP address is never stored. It is used in memory for the hash and the country lookup and then discarded. Country level is only used in aggregate.
Respects Do Not Track
If the visitor's browser sends a DNT header, nothing is logged at all. We do not override the signal.
Installation takes 30 seconds
Paste the following into the <head> of your website. Replace YOUR-SITE-ID with the ID you get in the portal.
<script src="https://analytics.paidin.se/paidin-analytics.js"
data-site-id="YOUR-SITE-ID"
async defer></script>
No dependencies. Minified, about 3 KB. Does not block page rendering.
What you see in the dashboard
Visits & page views
Daily trends per page, including top lists of the most visited pages.
Unique visitors
Per day/week/month. Based on a 24-hour fingerprint.
Referrer & UTM
Where does the traffic come from? Google, Facebook, direct, email? Campaigns are tagged automatically.
Engagement
Time per page, bounce rate and sessions per visitor. For us a bounce is a session with a single page view, which is a different definition from GA4's engagement-based one.
What is stored and what is not
The reason no consent banner is needed for the measurement is that nothing is stored or read in the visitor's browser. Here is the full list of what we store.
| Item | Stored | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Page visited | Yes | The path, not who visited it. |
| Referring page and UTM | Yes | Shows which channel the visit came from. |
| Timestamp | Yes | Forms the basis for daily and weekly patterns. |
| Anonymised hash | Yes | Used to count unique visitors per day. It rotates at midnight and cannot be reversed back to a person. |
| Cookies and localStorage | No | Nothing is stored in the visitor's browser. That is why no consent banner is needed. |
| IP address | No | Not stored as an identifier. |
| Names, email addresses or customer details | No | The traffic logging collects no personal data at all. |
Visitors with Do Not Track enabled in their browser send no data at all.
